Recently, someone said to us why arnt you guys getting testimonials to show others what fantastic work you do? To be honest we had never even thought about it, we just get on with what needs doing. So, we will try and remember to ask people to send us their testimonials and will update when we can.
I would like to recount the totally fulfilling experience I have had with Action Aid for Animals. I initially decided to adopt one rescue dog from Romania, but given the plight of the strays there I opted for another one.
The person I adopted from was utterly amazing, open, honest, understanding and always available with advice. So once that decision was made we then arranged for the transport of my new babies and many others I have to add.
What a complete pleasure it has been to deal with Action Aid for Animals. They have been so supportive through this whole process of adoption and rescue. They have overcome issues that to me would have been insurmountable - but they never broke stride.
Prior to collection they sent out an itinerary and in depth information on where the dogs would be picked up, timings, when they would arrive at Calais, when they would arrive in UK, and all the drop off points. Even with the problems they encountered in Calais they never once panicked, they kept us up-to-date at every opportunity. Above all they cared for the dogs constantly on the gruelling journey from Romania to UK.
I would most certainly use Action Aid for Animals again if I adopt from Romania - I would not hesitate in recommending others to use them. Rescuing my two babies has been the best decision I have made in a very long time.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone

This was our very first adoption and fostering experience for a romanian rescue dog. And it turned out to be the most rewarding rescue experience anyone could ever wish for.
Action Aid will help you whether you would like to adopt a romanian rescue dog already in the UK or maybe you would like to adopt or foster a dog still in Romania which they will also help you with.
If you are new to this there may be doubts and questions. This was certainly the case for us as we only had experience with rescuing a dog from a UK rescue before. It helps so much to have as much information as possible from people who do not tire in answering whichever question you may have. Action Aid where wonderful and we learnt so much during our time of research and during the process of taking a romanian dog into our hearts and home.
Also the rescuers from Romania who link with Action Aid were always helpful and understanding and questions were answered quickly. Anyone adopting or fostering a dog from Romania will experience such depth of animal love and commitment it is simply mind blowing.

Action Aid organised a professional, well priced, safe and caring transport for our romanian dog Aran. He needed very special handling and care during his long journey, because he lived all his previous life on a chain. His rescue was a very sudden dramatic and a totally life changing event for Aran, which resulted in great fear and initial behaviour issues. When we met our Aran for the first time the Action Aid team was ready with much information and wonderful advice on how to overcome Aran's fear related issues. Armed with their advice we had a very firm base to build on. And we came out on top!
Even after the transport and adoption process were completed everyone including the rescue team on the romanian side were absolute stars and never tired to share their founded experience and advice with us. And within only 2 weeks our extremely fearful Aran lost much of his fears and turned into a big soft teddy bear. He is the best dog anyone could ever wish for. Thank you guys! Without you we might have misunderstood our lovely Aran. Could not have done it without you!
Romanian dogs have such a very tough life and rescuing a dog from Romania will be a wonderful life saving gift to this particular dog and the most rewarding experience for any adopter or fosterer.
We also wanted to help more and of course there is a limit as to how many dogs anyone can adopt. So we decided to also become Action Aid volunteers and foster parents for a doggy in order to help more. Action Aid were brilliant in guiding us through the process and our first romanian foster dog Chance is now brightening up our days with her fun loving antics. She is a super little dog! And we will certainly do it again after Chance has found her special home.
We cannot recommend Action Aid highly enough. Thank you Guys!

Its been approx 3 weeks, since Max finally came over from Romania... I really want to thank RAA (aka Action Aid for Animals) for all the support they gave me for the last 6 months, without their help I would have struggled to bring Max over.
I want to thank Kendra especially for her help in liasing with the lady who was fostering/looking after Max in Romania. We had many problems with this lady, she kept making excuse after excuse why Max could not travel. Even though she knew I had arranged Max's transport via RAA, and all the paperwork had been done, she would find some excuse or the other.
We were confused why she was making this process so much harder, but Kendra stood by me, supported me, helped me and liased with the lady directly many times. I felt like Max was not going to make it over, that this lady had no intention of handing him over, but Kendra did not give up and she helped me all along. Even to the day before the dogs were going to leave Romania, we still weren't sure if Max was going to make it.
It got to the point where we just didn't know what was happening with Max. One minute we were told he was on his way, then we would hear his not going to travel, it was back and forth till the very last minute! We had so many frantic emails, trying to contact relevant people who kept changing their mind, one minute he was on his way, next minute there was some other reason why Max couldn't travel, I almost gave up but Kendra persisted with this. with her help Max is here ..... and so Thank you everyone at RAA for all your support and help, and Kendra thank you soooo much for all the help in the last few weeks before Max came over, all the stress we both went through... thanks for helping me with the battle to bring Max over... :o)x
As I am writing this im smiling as my little fur baby is sat at the side of me, this is the best thing I have ever done for myself but this joy woulnt have been possible with out the help of Action Aid for Animals, to put your trust in someone you dont know to fetch you something youve only seen on pictures is a massive thing, but I can confidently say these guys rock!!!!
In the future when i have the room I will be asking these guys to help me once again, not only did they go through the long drive to pick each dog up one by one but they also ended up with a big problem were some dogs wernt able to make the ferry (nothing to do with these guys but problems on the other side, kendra dropped everything to stay with these dogs while the others made their journey back to the UK now thats someone who cares muchly, nobody had slept for 2 days but their main concern was getting the dog to their mummys and daddys [:)] i cant thank you enough for the amazing gift Leila Audin xxxx
